- These days, Sam tackles as many charity rides and bike parades as he can on his single speed
- He can also be found DJing around Portland and enjoying their many skate parks

- Crew member on Race Across AMerica in 1997 and a co-crew leader in 2006
- Enjoys motorcycling, snowboarding and golf
